GEOVISION INTRODUCTION
GeoVision's GV-Series is a PC based, multi-channel video surveillance DVR that utilizes the most advance digital video compression technologies to bring you the highest picture quality and video performance. The GV-Series product range starts from our entry level GV-250 to the flagship GV-1480. Up to 16 cameras can be connected and view live on a local monitor screen or thru TCP/IP network. The DVR then can recorder video based on specifiable schedules or motion detection as well as alarm contacts or other external triggers. You can store video clips in HDD or any optical storage device by using GeoVision Backup System. GeoVision is a market leader in the field of DVRs (Digital video recorders) offering some of the most advanced products available on the market.
Overview
GeoVision's GV-Series is a PC based surveillance system designed to process video, audio and data from local and remote network surveillance environment. With more special features and more integration versatility provided, the GV-Series Surveillance System V8.2 delivers more powerful and streamlined surveillance operation performance as well as enhanced management efficiency. Providing detail not seen on conventional surveillance cameras, the GV-IP Camera 1.3M features a 1.3 megapixel CCD that delivers superb video image quality. Through the use of progressive scan CCD sensor, the GV-IP Camera 1.3M is able to reproduce ultra smooth video images of fast moving objects without any pixilated edges. With high definition up to 1280 x 960 and up to 4 times higher resolution than conventional VGA/ D1 cameras, the GV-IP Camera 1.3M allows users to monitor critical areas with greater detail than ever. Moreover, with simultaneous/dual video stream and support for compliant Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), it allows users to view both MJPEG images and MPEG-4 videos with improved efficiency while conserving valuable bandwidth.
In providing our customers with a more complete, cost-effective IP surveillance solution, our GV-IP Camera 1.3M can seamlessly integrate with our GV-NVR software system that comes with advanced monitoring and various other video management features. When connected with the GV-IP Camera 1.3M, Special web interface support functions such as picture-in-picture (PiP) view and picture-and-picture (PnP) view are also made available for facilitating detail monitoring.
The GV-IP Camera 1.3M is offered with encased box version, which is designed to fulfill the needs of customers who require outdoor installations, and rugged dome version (soon to be launched), which is designed for indoor environment use. The GV-IP Camera 1.3M is best installed in areas such as casinos, ATMs, banks, border control stations, military bases, or any areas that require stringent security measure.

- Progressive scan CCD captures the entire scene of a moving object at the same time. Even and odd fields are scanned simultaneously. It reproduces smooth video quality without pixilated edges.

- PIP View (Picture-in-Picture): Provides a close-up monitoring view of a particular selected area on the video image, which enables security personnel to gain better understanding of any suspicious events occurred at a particular location. The view is especially beneficial when the camera resolution is megapixel.
- PAP View (Picture-and-Picture): Provides a close-up monitoring function similar to PIP except that it can creates a split video effect by having a close-up monitoring of multiple selected areas on the video image. It can help raise monitoring efficiency when multiple areas at a specific location are considered to be critical or of high risk.
- Panorama View (option): An advanced video analytics feature that can splice multiple camera images to provide a continuous scene for live monitoring. It allows user to gain better understanding of camera orientation and the relationship among cameras, and hence is well suited for wide area surveillance in locations such as airport, seaport, military compound, borders control stations, etc. Up to 4 sets of panorama views can be created.

- New codec Geo H264 V2: Provides smaller compressed file size and higher frame rate than Geo H264, and hence is able to improve video transmission efficiency and reduces storage costs further. (*)
- Multithreading encoding: Designed to speed up video encoding, thus achieving maximum CPU efficiency and frame rate. The performance speed up from multithreading encoding is most obvious when the multi-core CPU is in use. (*)

New features to VSM:
The GV-VSM is event-alert text messages service recommended for a large cluster of networked GV-Systems where an enormous amount of maintenance service is required. When any online GV-System is event-triggered, instant text messages will be sent to GV-VSM for IT operator to proceed with maintenance on the GV-System cluster. Following the receipt of the messages, the GV-VSM can activate alarms to the operator's attention while sending emails and SMS alerts to local subscribers. The purpose of adopting GV-VSM is to help IT operators easily notice GV-Systems health status and response instantly to various frequent events. It can co-work with GV-Center V2 Server and serve as many as 1,000 GV-Systems simultaneously.

The GV-Dispatch Server is a computer with Dispatch software that works with GV-Center V2 servers and the GV-Systems. The GV-Dispatch Server connects 25,000 GV-Systems to 50 GV-Center V2 Pro servers and distributes the workload between online and offline GV-Center V2 servers. It utilizes load-balancing technique that distributes requests from event-triggered GV-Systems evenly across a GV-Center V2 network. If one GV-Center V2 server starts to get swamped, the GV-Dispatch Server forwards requests to another GV-Center V2 server with more capacity. When one GV-Center V2 server fails to work, another can take over in the processing activity.
