Every package that includes a DVR with a hard drive, you will have a hard drive designed specifically for recording video. Most companies put the same hard drives in DVRs that are intended to go into computers. A computer is designed to have long periods of idle time and off time. Your DVR will be recording up to 16 cameras at once, at the same time you might want to view what you've recorded already. Day in and day out for YEARS. Does that sound like something a computer hard drive was designed to handle? No way.
Not only do our hard drives perform better, they carry a 5 YEAR MANUFACTURER WARRANTY. The most likely component to fail in a camera system is the hard drive inside the DVR. It's a pretty secure feeling to know you don't have to worry about hard drive failure for up to 5 times longer than if you were to choose some of those other vendors.
