The dual codec DVR's come with a DVD-RW drive built-in that will easily allow you to create backup video of any event, and allow you to play this backup disk on any standard PC with no proprietary software required. A DVD disc has roughly six times the capacity that a regular CD does, allowing you to store more footage on a single disc.
Do you want to be able to view your DVR on a flat panel display? The dual codec series has a VGA output that allows you to use any standard computer monitor to view your system. The dual codec series also allows you to record audio for all of your cameras, which is a premium feature on a digital video recorder. This 16 channel DVR features triplex operation, which allows you to do 3 things at once (view live video, burn a DVD, view via the internet).
